Your Daily Spanish Coach

by Timothy Moser

Learn the tactics that elite Spanish coaches use to help serious adult learners become fluent in Spanish. Every weekday, Timothy Moser spends 3 minutes on one technique you can use that day. Episodes cover speaking without freezing, choosing vocabulary you'll actually use, memory devices to make sense of tricky grammar, training your Spanish ear and voice, and study habits you'll follow even on a bad week. It's what he tells his own coaching students at LearnCraft Spanish, built on 12 years of watching what works and what doesn't.

What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

I have been studying Spanish for almost two years, and every time I listen to new episodes of Learncraft, I learn something new. Today’s nugget was the example of grouping words with similar stressed syllables. I know this will help me with pronunciation, which is something that I struggle with at times. I also agree with reading and speaking out loud. When I first started, this was very difficult for me, but it gets easier over time, and it truly helps me consolidate what I am learning.

It will get your brain thinking about Spanish in a new and more effective way.

the internet is full of resources for learning Spanish, from 10 second clips with 10 words about cooking to the green owl so it is easy to waste time skipping from one unrelated grammar topic to a random list of vocabulary. Your daily spanish coach instead focuses on the how to so you can use your time effectively. There are quick tips on how to actually find useful vocabulary, how to improve retention and pronunciation through memory devices that focus on the stressed syllable and how to understand ‘fast’ spoken Spanish by learning in phrases (with a nod to Bad Bunny). Ignore the gimmicks of ‘fluent in 30 days’ but also make sure your hard work is focused on scientifically based methods to move your Spanish forward.

I like the approach from Your Daily Spanish coach, with several different ways to work Spanish into our learning. The common sounds make a lot of sense. One of the hardest things for me is to have the Spanish sounds in my mind- I tend to go back to English sounds when I read Spanish out loud. And the idea that if we can find the same sounds or word and use it throughout our day will help bring those sounds to mind.
