French that speaks to you. Salut, c'est Hugo! I created this podcast in 2017 when I was teaching at the French institute in Warsaw, Poland. My goal was to show my students that they could learn French naturally simply by listening to it. 30 million downloads later, I think we're onto something! Granted, it's not a magic bullet. This method still requires hundreds of hours of practice. That's why I'm doing my best to make these episodes as engaging as possible. I want you to get sucked into the topics so deep you forget that you're "learning French". You'll quickly realize that you're capable of understanding a lot more French than you think. The episodes get progressively more challenging, so I'd recommend starting from the oldest ones and working your way up. From episode 92, I'm joined by Ingrid, a French journalist and teacher, for more conversational style episodes. The Inner French podcast has brought joy to my learning process. The episodes are interesting, relevant, accessible, and often very fun. I’ve learned as much about French culture as I’ve learned French vocabulary and sentence structure. I feel like a competent, empowered adult learner when I engage with the podcast and look forward to the release of each new conversation! Thank you for making the learning process enjoyable!
Les sujets sont variés, bien choisis et extrêmement bien présentés. Je l'ai découvert il y a environ quatre semaines et depuis cet temps j'écoute au moins un épisode par jour -et quelquefois quand j'ai le temps, j'en écoute trois ou quatre. Je les adore!
Though I have an intermediate level of French, this podcast has opened up a new dimension in my learning journey. The range of topics is very interesting and informative, and the use of connectors between phrases and arguments is well-structured. I decided to start with Ep1 to build my new path of learning the beautiful French language. Highly recommend this podcast to all learners, whether you are an A- to C-level learner.
I started at episode 1 and am going forward from there. Every episode is interesting and I’m understanding more and more. News podcasts are so depressing and others are too childlike, but every one of Hugo’s is interesting and engaging. Absolutely love it!
