Ever since the castle first appeared in the sky above the city of Windfall, its residents have been building upward. Now the city consists of towers where the wealthiest residents live at the top while the poor eke out a living on the ground. Our podcast follows Cas, Shaima, and Argus, three brothers who live with their Uncle Vern after being orphaned during the grounder rebellion twenty years earlier. They find themselves drifting apart as Argus, the youngest, falls hopelessly in love with the much-older Helina, a foreign merchant haunted by her past; Cas, the middle brother, works in secret for the local crime boss; and Shaima, the oldest, struggles to keep their uncle’s scrap shop from going under. When Cas’s best friend, Kendall, is offered a position with the Wolfpac, Windfall’s military cult that acts as the city’s police, Cas is forced to decide where his loyalties lie. Meanwhile, something sinister looms over the city itself, threatening the lives of all who live in Windfall, from the wealthiest residents to the ground-level poor. Start at Episode 1.00.

Really excellent world building through storytelling, great production value and has lgbt rep as well
On my first Windfall binge I was immediately blown away by the sound design and the immense scope of the world building. On my second binge, I found a wealth of subtle details to appreciate. The Windfall script was obviously given time to mature and reach its full potential. Multiple intersecting storylines and character arcs are seamlessly woven together and the pacing never feels too crowded or rushed or slow. Every bit of emotional conflict is fully earned in the writing and in the acting. A group of sloshing-full passionate hearts emptied themselves out while making this beautiful epic masterpiece. Give it a first and a second listen.
From the writing, to the acting, to the sound design, this podcast is incredibly well crafted. It’s so much fun to throw it on and let the world unfurl around you.
This is an incredible, immersive podcast and I ask myself almost daily if the next ep is out yet. Audio drama is so hard to do well and yet, Windfall is crushing it.
