Fun podcast to listen to wether you seen the movies or not. Matt keeps you laughing and while keeping you up to speed on the story.
You don’t listen to this podcast to hear Matt McCarthy describe the movie he’s watching, though that’s part of it. You listen for all the interesting personal stories and sidebars and digressions watching that movie brings. Fantastic show!
I'm a fan of Matt's stuff in general, but this one may be my favorite. It's between this, and the Blanka sketch from an old show. Some of the movies he watches are good films and his commentary makes them better. But the real magic is when he watches a movie that you would never ever pay to see. The worse it is, the better his commentary is. Just the greatest comments. "Watch this film with a noose around your neck while standing on a chair..." So funny. Thanks Matt
You want to revisit old movies, some good, some bad, but you ditched your old combo VCR/DVD player? Fear not! Matt McCarthy to the rescue, as he...well, he justifies his movie collection. Always amusing and often insightful. And, true to his word, if he can't justify having the movie, he throws it out (I'm still curious about how bad Sucker Punch could really be). Reh-co-mended!
