Our whole family listens to your show together. It’s a great way for my curious, spooky-loving kiddos to get some chills without too much for their age. Thank you so much for this accessible and thoughtful podcast. Our suggestions for episodes are: supervillains, clowns, quicksand, Bigfoot, chupacabra… so many possibilities! (:

A lot of the reviews on here seem slightly immature, but I hope you guys will take the time to look at my review. This is one of my favorite podcasts, I love the intriguing way you tell the stories and the production. I’ve listened to all the episodes, but the latest ones seem very boring and dull. Most of them are either encores, advertisements/samples of other podcasts, or collaborations with other podcasters or researchers. I feel that it doesn’t have the essence it used to have, like all the spookiness is gone and they ran out of ideas. Now they’re just trying to get money. But honestly, what do I know? Anyway, the collabarations/featuring other people on the show isn’t bad, but I wish you guys had more fresh, new content like you used to, not just encores.

Honestly this is one of my long time favorite podcasts, especially since early episodes have little to no ads. I first listened to this podcast with my friend at 10-ish pm and it was amazibg how it draws you into spooky worlds before hitting you with science to make it a little less terrifying. But recent episodes have been not so great. While I've really wanted it to have a FNaF episode, it was actually pretty underwhelming, it didn't discuss some of the horror elements or newer games that drew me to FNaF. Same goes for the Poppy Playtime episode. It felt less like it was actually talking about the game and what makes it so scary people love it, and more like it was an essay on how to enjoy horror games. I also feel like the skibidi toilet episode was unnecessary, but it was funny hearing the host say gen alpha slang. Modern horror is great but I feel like the episodes the show makes on it aren't as great as earlier episodes- or even the backrooms episode (which is my favorite one).

My 6 year old LOVES this podcast. He listens to each episode multiple times. He likes anything spooky, so this is perfect for him.

The show used to be amazing! It was our absolute favorite! The best episodes are the ones where Elise tells a story about the topic and engages the kids to think critically about what makes the topic scary or spooky. But ever since the show has introduced Nate, and brought on a variety of interviewees, the show has completely declined. As soon as we hear an interview begin, we turn it off. Why do you think kids want to listen to people they don’t know be interviewed? Sleepy Hollow was a perfect example. We were so excited to listen to your take on one of our most favorite ghost stories, but instead it was ruined with an interview. Please go back to the original format. We want to hear the stories and the kids… not the grown ups talking!

This used to be my son’s favorite podcast but lately every episode is an interview. No child wants to listen to an interview - it’s not engaging at all. Especially this latest one - culturally appropriation? What kid is a) going to understand that concept b) care about it. It’s absolutely ridiculous. Your audience is predominantly children. They don’t want boring interviews.
