Love your podcasts. When I came across it I was with my little sister, and we bonded over the show. I remember feeling really proud getting to five hundred episodes, counting down until we got there, and now we’re at 606! It’s very nostalgic for me, a way to connect with my past self in a way. Thank you darkness, for everything. Plus, I’m now I know what places to avoid when camping and what not😉

Out of all the spooky podcasts, this narrator nails the dialogue voices and has a captivating voice. He tells stories with enough details to truly imagine them. I haven’t found a spooky podcast that compares yet.

Ever since my dad strayed playing it in the car, I’ve been addicted. I’ve watched almost every episode that has come out sing I’ve started, and the voice is amazing, the atmosphere, its the perfect podcast. 10/10, definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good scare.

My favorite scary story podcast. Been an avid listener for a couple of years now. The narration and well done/placed effects throughout each story make for a more immersive story telling experience. It’s spoiled me, I can’t listen to any other scary story podcast now because this one is so well done.

Seriously, why is every episode about skinwalkers?
I mean, clearly every episode is fiction, which I don’t mind, I like a good scary story about the unexplained (Edgar Allan Poe, Lovecraft), but there are so many plot contrivances and overt falsehoods in these stories that it’s very hard not to notice.
And if you seriously think any of these stories are real, boy, have I got a bridge to sell you.
Most episodes contain an obligatory “expert in their field” in order to lend credence to the veracity of the claims, i.e. forest rangers, longtime hunters / hikers, animal experts, military and police. Bonus points if these “experts” happen to be of Native American descent.
The overuse of skinwalkers and wendigos (while often misattributing characteristics of both) completely dismisses the Native American cultures and folklore where these “beings” originated.
Each episode feels like it was written by a paranormal / cryptid enthusiast writing amateur fiction on 4chan, then ran through AI to pad out the length.
Most of the episodes start out fine enough, but by the midpoint you’re just shaking your head at everything.
