The Reading Black Girls Podcast

by The Reading Black Girls

The Reading Black Girls Podcast is an unfiltered show about everything we love and hate about the books we read. Join four beautiful, melanated HBCU-educated women: Alex, Aziza, Denisha, and Kayla as we unapologetically chat about books from a wide range of genres. From non-fiction and romance to YA and historical fiction, we break down new and classical reads to discuss our favorite moments and our criticisms. Join us as we laugh, reflect, chastise, and recommend some of our personal book interests. Our mission is to inspire and change the way people view reading as a task and bring back the fun and exploration of simply finding a good book!

What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

i’m unsure how i found these girls, but i’m so happy i did. i love book podcasts founded in friendship; it feels like i’m being included in the discussion in an entertaining but distanced way. while these readers dissect parts of stories thoughtfully and smartly, there are also moments of laughter and closeness that you can only find in podcasts like this one. am so excited for these ladies to continue!

SLAAAAAY · Nov 2022

I want to love this podcast but there’s always so much going on - talking over each other and hardly any direction to the conversation - it’s hard to stay focused or even understand what is being said.

ChemGirl512 · Aug 2026

What’s not to love about this? As a new listener I’m excited to catch up and hear these ladies take on a few books I’ve already read. My book club will be reading Score soon 💛

@YaGirlTricey · Jun 2026

I’m late to the party but I’ve listened to the episodes of books that I’ve read. These ladies make me want to re-read those books! I’ve definitely be tuning in for every episode!
