THE MORNING SHIFT

I began listing to The Morning Shift partially as a way to stay updated on current events in Aotearoa. My partner lives in Auckland majority of the year and I primarily live on the Big Island, so I thought this would be fun way to stay connected. I was instantly hooked to this podcast’s merriment, relatability, and the emphasis on the importance of family and culture. Plus these three braddahs have the most contagious laughs! Jordan, Brook and Marc—Mahalo nui loa for all that you do and for creating a community.

Post-US election, I was looking for a wake up show that didn't mention the Orange Menace each day. Stumbled upon this show and as soon as I heard the voices I smiled. Funny, fun and even better coming from Aotearoa where I have family! Now I can wake up each morning with a smile.

I am not a person who rates podcasts or leaves comments, but I just LOVE this show! These guys are such a good time. The jokes, the stories, the music…. They are always a bright spot in my day! The daily dose of good vibes we all need! Well done, gents!

I don’t even remember how I stumbled onto The Morning Shift, but there’s just something about their camaraderie, love for each other/people and their pure joy. Even though I’m thousands of miles away in the USA, they’ve become a part of my mornings. I laugh at their ridiculous roasts of each other (except Matua because who wants to roast our favorite guy?!) and I appreciate the seriousness and vulnerability with which they approach real life issues. I hope HOPE HOOOOPE that some day they’ll visit Texas, and maybe I’ll get to shake their hands, hug their necks, and thank them for the gift they’ve given myself and so many others. It’s an honor to be a Shifter! P.S. I’ve also gotten to learn more about New Zealand, and the beautiful cultures that make up that country. 💙
