What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

I was beyond thrilled to discover this podcast and even more delighted that it’s so fantastic! The hosts are pitch-perfect, bringing the perfect mix of reverence and humor to this discussion of the my all-time favorite version of Poirot (David Suchet forever). They are now my imaginary best friends (their other show Cozy AF is new and also wonderful)!

Frankie and Adam do a multi-level analysis of the Suchet Poirot adaptations that is so witty and humorous it makes me laugh as I learn. While they occasionally reference the books, they are definitely focused on the television shows both as stories and as adaptations. I enjoy their podcast so much that I re-listen to the older shows as I’m waiting for the new ones to drop. Thanks for all your hard work, Frankie and Adam!

Great show for those that love to indulge and take a trip down to Hercule-land. So much love for all the fascinating characters. We don’t agree on every review with these two, but what’s better than a podcast that has you saying things like “damned offensive” and “I say” out loud to the hosts?! It’s basically a third way to experience each story after reading it and watching the show. 👌

The perfect podcast for this fan of Agatha Christie and David Suchet’s Hercule Poirot. I’m so pleased to discover Adam and Frankie and the community of fellow Poirot enthusiasts they’ve attracted with their clever program. (BTW, Frankie is right about the ersatz Poirot who shall not be named …)

Terri Barnes · Jan 2025

This podcast regularly normalizes the racist tropes and language too often found in Agatha Christie’s work, rather than taking the time to challenge those racist tropes and language. Hosts Adam and Frankie laugh and push under the rug the very things that would make for a thoughtful, nuanced discussion of Christie’s work. The Hosts’ banter often comes off as shallow and pandering to “likes and follows”, rather than to the feelings of those negatively impacted by the racism of Christie’s work that Adam and Frankie often normalize. In their repeated choices to celebrate Christie’s problematic ethos on race as contained in the Poirot novels, Hosts Frankie and Adam instead hope that by gaslighting the audience on the racism we see depicted in the Poirot cannon, the audience will somehow forget that the hosts of this podcast, at least on some level, seem to agree with the racist language and tropes that Christie often used in her work.
