I’ve leaned so much from listening to your Great Books podcasts… thank you so much for this important inspiring and thought provoking work. I will plan to listen again to all the episodes while I wait to find out where you will land.
I love that each episode begins with the guest justifying the inclusion of each title as a “Great Book”. Some of the books featured bring back memories of trudging dutifully through their pages in high school and, at that time, wondering what English teachers experienced in college to cause them to seem so enthusiastic over the contents. With several decades of life experience and many more books devoured,I now can appreciate writing styles, themes, allusions, and nuances that were beyond me as a teen. I, like other reviewers, have been inspired to reread with fresh eyes, to revisit beloved friends, and to acquaint myself with new-to-me classics. Mr. Miller, your podcast has enriched my reading and appreciation of great books! I look forward to the discussion of Hamlet that some future venture of yours will facilitate. In the meantime, you have my heartfelt thanks.
Thank you for this outstanding series. It is impressive in its succinct, insightful, and charming engagement of the greatest reads out there. It is classic & eclectic, delightful & eye-opening, and full of wit & wisdom.
I really loved this podcast. You and your guests helped me think more deeply about literature I had read and motivated me to read things I didn’t know existed. I enjoyed this show so much. You will be missed.
