I’ve been a listener from the beginning, and the hosts have great rapport with each other. I also enjoy them individually on their channels. Lately they don’t seem to be enjoying any of the games they talk about so I’m taking a break for a bit. I really love that they don’t pretend to like games they don’t, but I’m surprised everything seems to disappoint at least two of the hosts to the point that is isn’t fun to listen to.

I absolutely love Slow Burn with Pat, Pay, and Min!! Every episode feels like I’m just hanging out with my best friends and chatting about all my favorite video games. Of course they are my best friends who don’t have any idea I exist and are only voices in my head, but they are happy voices at least! LOL Seriously though, the format, production, discussions, and choice of topics are all top notch. Check it out, you won’t regret it

Slow Burn Podcast was tough to stick with. The hosts spend more time bragging about dev partnerships and free game keys than actually discussing cozy games. Payten repeatedly brings up her illness in a way that feels more like a plea for sympathy than genuine openness, and the trio often act as if they’re major creators when they really aren’t. If you want a cozy‑gaming podcast that’s warm, respectful, and actually focused on games, Tea With Honey is a far better choice.

I used to look forward to this podcast but slowly I’ve been falling out of love with it and the last episode was the nail in the coffin. Granted I’m not just a cozy game fan. While farming sims were my first love, I also love RPGs and other types of games. This crew is often so siloed with what they play that they end up talking about the same 5 games over and over again. Their banter is so nonsensical and annoying that I end up speeding through half of it just to get to the news of new games. They seem to have the same mind hive without diversity of thought (or skin tone for that matter). And finally, after one of the best directs that Nintendo has put out in a long time, they bash it because it wasn’t all about cozy games even though one of the most successful cozy games of the year (Pokopia) received a major update and dlc. I’m just so over them.
