Fear Daily has been growing on me. The quality of the stories and narration. Then along comes Dinner Party | Darlene. All I can say is wow, and thanks. I have replayed it three times already. Impressive. You skillfully communicate a lot of the scary in relatively short stories.

These folks are absolutely incredible! Honestly, in the first few episodes, I genuinely thought the whole show was real 🤦♂️. The character development is so rich, and the subtle details in their interactions really draw you deep into the world of the story. It’s those small, authentic moments between characters that make it so immersive and believable.

I’ll admit I’m binge listening, so the common threads of the writing are more apparent than they would be otherwise, and the fact that the narrator is a man does impact this, but it’s vaguely misogynistic. Not always and not every time, but enough that, as a woman, I notice. Men treat women poorly and the tone is less than current (which I guess could be argued fits the 90’s feel). I would enjoy it more if the perspectives were more diverse and women were treated as equals and less as tropes. Otherwise, this podcast has some written gems and is amazing for updating everyday.
