I love how giggly, fun, and accessible this podcast makes complex topics! Thank you for all that you do. 💖
I love this podcast, it tackles difficult subjects as well as light hearted “myth busting” with a bit of fun, in an easy to understand and easy to digest way. But, Hank Green said, “why don’t we have a podcast?” And I gotta ask the same question. That would be so entertaining.
A great podcast that gives great insight on a variety of topics broken down for the the average listener
I love this show and the realness mixed with some silliness. Science is the cornerstone of life and Wendy and her team deliver the most interesting and informative content in a way that most can understand and/or relate to.
I have enjoyed this podcast over the years but I have been extremely disappointed by several recent episodes. The episode on ibogaine is completely irresponsible and not well researched at all. There is zero mention of any of the standard-of-care FDA approved treatments for opioid use disorder that have long track records of safety and effectiveness, including a mortality benefit. This episode essentially promotes a high-risk, expensive and experimental treatment that does not have any data up to current clinical research standards to support its current use (which would need to include comparison to the standard of care). The information presented was of poor quality and the limitations were not adequately discussed. As a physician who treats people with substance use disorders, I am at loss as to why they did not interview an addiction medicine doctor for this episode. I strongly recommend that they take this episode down and do additional research before publishing a revised version as I think this episode has the potential to do harm to vulnerable patients and their families.
I really wanted to love this podcast because the topics are genuinely interesting and often very well-researched. However, one of the hosts has an overly playful tone that I found really distracting. It feels like she’s smirking or on the verge of laughter almost constantly, even when the subject matter doesn’t call for it. I usually enjoy a lighthearted pod, this delivery came off as forced and took away from the discussions. it became too annoying for me to m enjoy.
