LOVE the podcast and have for years! I’ve noticed that most of the blogs now are episode transcripts. I really utilized the summaries/outlines that he used to provide and hope they come back.
I’m currently listening to this podcast from the beginning, so my thoughts might not be as relevant to the newer episodes (hopefully Dr. Puder improves as an interviewer with practice). The information, especially from the interviewees, is excellent but Dr Puder has a tendency to interrupt them with his own take. I’ve noticed he does this most with guests who are women.
I cannot say enough thanks to Dr. Puder for sharing his incredible knowledge and expertise with us. I may not be practicing as a psychotherapist, but I feel that you’re helping me be much more therapeutic in giving medication if needed. I also know that I have been able to get my patients more engaged and with the correct therapist lately. Best regards.
I so greatly appreciate this podcast! Dr. Puder has helped clinicians and lay people alike understand the tenets of psychiatric care and nuances of difficult diagnoses. I love the incorporation of new research and guests who have extensive experience and expertise in psychiatry.
In light of the guests featured and the topics covered, this should be one of the best therapy podcasts out there. Sadly, Dr. Puder’s deficiencies as an interviewer make it unlistenable. His poorly gauged questions and prompts, frequent interruptions, clumsy attempts at roleplay, and general lack of humility all distract from his remarkable guests and their ideas.
I am a physician and truly interested in these topics. However, after the Podcaster says “like” and “you know” and “right” and “excape” (instead of “escape”) 100 times in the first few minutes, I find it hard to believe this person is a medical doctor and a teacher. I would love to listen to this podcast — the topic is so appealing— if it were presented by someone mature and professional. He “should” obtain some communication training.
