Soon Carly begins to suspect that Rabbits is much more than just a game, and that the key to understanding Rabbits, might be the key to the survival of our species, and the Universe, as we know it.

I’ve listened to every season addictively. There is great stuff here, well worth the treat of listening. My only reason for less than 5 stars is that the female voice actors all sound the same, so it is hard to know who is speaking at times. And the dialog sometimes seemed forced and contrived leading me to think that the acting could be better. But it is a thoroughly enjoyable ride, for sure. The pacing and the intrigue kept me wanting to jump onto the next episode immediately. I hope there is a season 4. Check it out!
I read the books first and really enjoyed them both. The podcast lives up to my expectations. Production, pacing, writing, and sound design are all excellent.
The production quality is great. The audio and sound effects are well done. Where this podcast lacks is in the writing. It feels like it’s trying way too hard. Like Tanis, this podcast is overwritten. It seems like several new storylines are introduced every episode but go nowhere. I’ve listened to several episodes and am losing interest quickly because I don’t feel like the story advances at all. There’s no cohesion. It‘s like listening to someone ramble on about a series of unrelated topics and events. It’s a convoluted mess. I like the concept of the story, but don’t feel like I am getting anywhere when I listen. The plot isn’t advancing at all and it’s simply frustrating.
Characters don’t speak like real people. For example repeatedly asking “why” and “what do you mean” over and over, or referring to major events in their life as “since the last season of rabbits ended”. The poor dialogue writing really took me out of the story.
I gave this a really fair shake by finishing the entire series. Sadly the storyline was lacking, either too little, too much and poorly written. Might be okay if you’re really into nerdy, gaming theory but it’s just not carried out well with the storytelling. Sorry I just didn’t like it and I really tried.
