What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

Hard to believe I first enjoyed this show almost 8 years ago. I knew Josh from SYSK and was interested in hearing his take on existential risk(s). I was not totally sold on the narrative-ish format + soundtrack at first but was really surprised how much I enjoyed this series after just 2-3 episodes. I even had my teenagers listen bc Josh does a great job of organizing and communicating some really difficult concepts in such an approachable manner. I had hoped for a season 2 before we hit the 10yr mark but we may not have that luxury. Please make more episodes, Josh!!

In an era wracked with environmental anxiety, economic trouble, political turmoil, and information overload, listening to Josh Clark talk about the end of humanity is weirdly comforting.

This is one podcast I’ve listened to over and over and over. I’ve shared it with friends and family. I don’t think it’s importance can be overstated. Josh (and I) care deeply about humanity and the implications of the (very real, as he shows) possibility that we are the only intelligent life forms in the universe. It’s made me reconsider many things, and appreciate the fragile beauty of this amazing life we live.

Exciting, educating, and eery! I listen with morbid fascination to the extrapolations and genuine concern for the data and facts used to effectively illustrate the reason of these projections. Most of these topics have had interesting developments since this show’s release! There is new data, new insights, new technology. I’d love to hear more!

This show would be fantastic if they’d get rid of the terrible background sound effects. It’s like having tinnitus built into the pod. It ruins a perfectly good experience.
