As an avid podcast enthusiast, I'm always on the lookout for shows that offer a genuine and insightful exploration of intriguing topics. So, when I stumbled upon "PIE" with Kurt Sutter and Katey Sagal, I knew I had found something special. This podcast isn't just a casual chat between two celebrities; it's a sincere dive into the lives of artists, served with a generous helping of wisdom, humor, and raw authenticity.
What sets "PIE" apart is the dynamic duo of Kurt Sutter and Katey Sagal. Their chemistry is palpable, stemming from years of collaboration in the entertainment industry. Yet, instead of resting on their successes, they invite listeners into their world with open hearts and minds. Sutter and Sagal peel back the layers of their experiences like layers of a delicious pie, leaving us hungry for more with each episode.
One of the most refreshing aspects of "PIE" is its commitment to honesty. Sutter and Sagal don't shy away from the messy parts of their journeys. Instead, they embrace vulnerability, allowing their guest to share personal anecdotes and insights that resonate deeply with listeners. Whether they're discussing the creative process, navigating the highs and lows of fame, or reflecting on the importance of authenticity, their words ring true and leave a lasting impact.
"PIE" is about the diverse array of guests who join them at the table. From fellow artists to industry insiders, each episode brings a fresh perspective and a wealth of wisdom. Through intimate conversations and lively discussions, listeners are treated to a feast of inspiration and enlightenment.
Beyond its captivating content, "PIE" boasts top-notch production values. The sound quality is crisp, the pacing is engaging, and the editing is seamless. It's evident that a great deal of care and attention goes into every aspect of the podcast, resulting in a polished and professional listening experience.
In a crowded landscape of podcasts, "PIE" stands out as a true gem. With its blend of sincerity, humor, and profound insights, it's a must-listen for anyone who craves meaningful conversations and a deeper understanding to the entire creative process. So do yourself a favor and take a bite out of "PIE" - you won't be disappointed. I am so very excited to meet Katey in person next month at the Motor City Comic-Con.

I am listening to ALL of your podcasts right now and have one more to go!! You guys break it down and talk about what everything in the world we live in revolves around - our humanity- and sometimes the lack thereof. You ask the questions that get to the core of what makes people who they are and gives us a light into looking into ourselves and our own journey. You remove the celebrity veil to reveal that no matter how you grew up and how rocky the road traveled has been tragedy and unfortunate circumstances don’t have to define you and mistakes made by our parents raising us aren’t going to be the mistakes we make with our children!! Literally every single question you ask your guests are ALWAYS the questions I would ask!! The chemistry between you is an amazing plus and I wish you so much luck with this phenomenal podcast and hope you guys have a long run!! xo

Dear Katey & Kurt, I adore your approach to this podcast! Great to be able to hear your voices (as yourselves) every week. The best thing I’m noticing is that you’re giving us a chance to realize how we can easily relate to each other’s struggles in life, no matter what our jobs are. Not just another “interviewing celebrities” podcast. I’m picking up ways of coping with feelings/grief through experiences shared by you and your guests. This is very helpful and unexpected. Just one request, if you have Theo on your podcast, (and that would be wonderful) maybe offer him cake, instead. 😊

Love, love, love the approach, and the open, genuine discussions being had. There are lots of juicy morsels in these shows that you don’t want to miss! PIE is my new favorite podcast to listen to as I drive to and from work and, for an added bonus after I listen, I watch them on Kurt’s YouTube channel when I get home.
