Puts me, my husband, and baby to sleep. She has the best voice and love how she story tells.
Dead Sleep is first and foremost, pleasing to listen to, on a physical, auditory level. Nancy has a deep, just-enough-smoky, clear narration. But what really sets this podcast apart is its storytelling. Researched and delivered with dark humor, it hits all the right notes. If the crimes weren’t as told as thoughtfully and compellingly, it would be a gimmick. This is as close to podcast perfection as it gets.
This has been a fantastic find over the past week. I love listening to true crime as I fall asleep but need the voice to be soothing I also really appreciate Nancy’s perspective and her experience as a journalist. Great show!
Yes, easy to fall asleep to, but so interesting I want to listen when in awake, too, so as not to miss the great storytelling. Love the blend of mysteries, tame and not so. And the quiet, spacious, style even when awake, helps balance out the exhausting, noisy, efforts to generate over excited energy in the audience, that is so prevalent in entertainment content these days, even beyond the persistent beat of advertising.
