Really enjoyed hanging out with the guys and hearing their take on the series. For whatever reason their voices and banter reminded me of the DVD commentaries by Nick Frost and Simon Pegg. The "we're not experts" disclaimer was more of a plus than a minus for me. Keep up the good work!
Just happened to find this podcast yesterday, while looking for more information and commentary on the “Masters Of The Air” miniseries. Very much enjoying your reactions to the show, and have listened to all 3 episodes so far, plus the episode you did on the 1990 movie “Memphis Belle” - that was a great addition! Also, as an American, I’m interested in your take on the English RAF flyers (and their accents! LOL - that was fun!) Mostly, I appreciate being able to learn more about this important period in history, and that you bring both levity and seriousness to your comments. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and thank you for continuing with your Masters Of The Air podcast. (Just FYI - re: ep 3, according to my subtitles, Major Clevin said he didn’t want to spend the war in a *stalag* - I think you thought he said something about Stalin??) (Edit: It was a great idea to mention the movie “The Great Escape”, especially in regards to episode 7. I’m curious to know if either of you have seen Billy Wilder’s film “Stalag 17,” starring William Holden? That might also be a good one to watch …) Thanks guys - appreciate your work!
Watched episode 1 of Masters of the Air, enjoyed it; love listening to Podcasts for shows I enjoy. None of the podcasts I am currently subscribed to are covering the show so I searched for one which did. Chose this one as it was the first one listed. And I am glad I did!! The two hosts discussion of each episode is like listening to a couple of good friends. Filled with in depth analysis of each scene, perspective, reflection, candor, humor and insight. Quite enjoyable to listen to, they both ask many of the same questions I have and answer them to the best of their ability without research. Totally fine with me! 5 stars!!
I discovered the amazing, ridiculously underrated TV show: The Expanse last year (Fall 2023) and I was late to the game so all the podcasts I loved to accompany each episode were years old, but I really enjoyed them nonetheless. One of the shows I loved was Into the Expanse starring these same 2 hosts. As an American (Illinois) I appreciate a UK flavor and these guys have good chemistry and don’t pretend to be experts but still come across very capable and inevitably point out tons of great points and new insights. I feel a little twist of joy to discover this podcast in time to enjoy “irt” (in real time). Keep it up and now I know to look for your Band of Bros show (will there be a Pacific to finish the trifecta?). Thanks for your time and efforts! Btw, other listener..why compliment the show but then only give it 3 stars? Seemed like your review was more about getting your own expertise “over”. Glad I ignored it.
