How To! with Charles Duhigg

by How To!

You've got questions. We find answers. We all need advice, but it's not always clear who to ask. Each week, we invite a listener on the show to tackle a real problem, like protecting our elderly loved ones from scammers, emigrating as a throuple, and speaking without saying "um" - all with help from world-class experts: attorneys, doctors, entrepreneurs, authors, researchers - who actually know what they're talking about. Think of it as eavesdropping on someone else's therapy session, without the co-pay or awkward silence.

What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

I’m a huge Mike Pesca fan, and How To! has been a great addition to his work. I’ve enjoyed every episode so far. Pesca brings the same sharp interviewing skills, curiosity, and humor that make his other projects so good, and he manages to turn practical questions into insightful conversations. It’s informative, entertaining, and consistently well done. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys smart, thoughtful interviews.

Wow! When I say you will get something from every minute of this show, I mean it! My friend sent me the student loan episode and then I binged way back to the earliest episodes and loved them ALL!

Stumbled across this podcast just looking for a new listen… one episode in and I’m hooked!! What an informative and comforting idea! I’ll be binging every episode. Thank you thank you thank you for what you do!!

I really appreciate your episodes, esp. the one on coping with a forever child. There are so many aspects to the forever child. Acceptance is very hard, especially when your friends or podcasters joyfully talk about their freedom and their “new life”. In our case, our 22 year old was diagnosed last year with severe Borderline Personality Disorder and mild autism. She is vulnerable and can not be independent. It is not what was in our plan at all. So, although she did not grow up being a “forever child”, it still is nice to know that there are many more forever parents out there.

Nothing against the podcast itself but moving to Portugal is not as easy as the guest implies. It took my family almost a year to get the proper paperwork, submit the papers, scheduling appointments, getting a lease in Portugal, etc … Also her comment about the ease in bringing your pet. Not so! It’s complicated and stressful if you don’t get your USDA certification within a week of your travel date. A more realistic expectation would be appreciated.
