The guests and substance are always intellectually rich, engaging and well framed but it’s the way James keeps the conversation flowing naturally through his own curiosity and productive banter style that makes this pod addictive - always on point but still always organic in tone, pace, dialectic Although the material covered may be a bit heavy or hard for me to follow on first take I appreciate how he doesn’t interrupt the flow or lower the conversational level of the guest to describe all the parts, passing references etc. - I can dig into those core and tangential topics after the pod - keep the conversation flowing at the level of the guest and material well done - great stuff - every pod

Call out to a previous review: I also want to love this podcast. A few of the episodes I learned a lot from, but unfortunately; this podcast doesn’t make Occultism very accessible to many. It only perpetuates the myth that Magick and the Occult is only for select people. With the few number of guests on here who are people of color and genders other than men, frankly this podcast makes it feel like we as a society haven’t progressed since the era of the Golden Dawn. For example, there are plenty of very gifted and reputable magical/spiritual somatic healers and authors that could’ve been on the Sept 2 episode. Having a person of color on that episode could be more respectful towards the traditions somatic work originates in too.

I want to love this podcast. In fact I do in many respects. I’m a Steiner nerd and love the episodes about that. I’m also transgender. 58 trans woman. After researching some of the guests on this podcast I have found several with anti-transgender ideologies, and that’s heartbreaking. Why keep having Greer on your podcast? Are you not aware of his anti trans rhetoric, or do you do about it and are in agreement with him? There are others I could point to, but I’ll leave it here for now. Such a disappointment as this podcast is so interesting.
