Great content and LOTS of respect for TC for going to the effort and expense to buy his IP back and make it available without being stuffed with ads! To be clear, I’m fine w some ads for players casts bc I’m not gonna pay a premium for everything I try or listen to but the corporate overlords had apparently been responsible for the absurd ad content. The decision to go it alone is commendable. And for that move alone I’m sending $$ your way.
I have been listening to this podcast for a couple of months now. I have scrolled back to much earlier episodes and also listened to the recent ones. I guess I have listened to about 100ish episodes. I am interested in Stoicism for the intellectual side of it, but more so for the practical usefulness of the ideas in it . Tanner is awesome. He explains it clearly in a modern context. Little anecdotes and analogies that are great ways to remember ideas. He speaks well. He has a great voice. I find him kind of funny too. I get a lot out of this podcast. He’s doing great work!! Five stars, hands down! Thanks Tanner! Keep firing!
Been a listener for a while now and it has been a great addition to my Stoic practice. Tanner knows his stuff and isn’t afraid of tackling nuance and the nitty gritty. His recent rebranding to tackle political topics through a Stoic lens is most welcome; I can only hope that the wider audience (and world for that matter) can learn to apply the same consistent rationality in forming their political positions. It’s a shame to see misinterpretation of Stoicism as justification for vicious thinking; Tanner excels at confronting those misinterpretations.
Thank you Tanner! The Stoic teachings help so much to filter out the noise of life and you have been so helpful with your approach to putting “theory into practice” for us. Looking forward to listening to your book on audible while I wait for the next episode!
This is yet another politically bias philosophical podcast. The entire point of stoicism is transcending politics and alleviating the need to engage in political mud-slinging. And yet that is exactly what this podcaster does. It completely detracts from the message of stoicism. I had hoped to find a podcast that actually avoided politics altogether and unfortunately this is not it. Yet another podcaster who does not practice what he preaches.
