Grown-Up Stuff: How to Adult

by iHeartPodcasts

Do your eyes glaze over when looking at a long list of annual health insurance enrollment options – or maybe while you’re trying to calculate how much you owe the IRS? You might be wondering the same thing we are: Where’s the guidebook for all of this grown-up stuff? Whether opening a bank account, refinancing student loans, or purchasing car insurance (...um, can we just roll the dice without it?), we’re just as confused as you are.  Enter: “Grown-Up Stuff: How to Adult” a podcast dedicated to explaining the complexities of adulting for which most of us are woefully under-prepared. In each episode, we seek out folks who can actually help us start to make sense of all the basic life skills required to be, well, a grown-up.

Such calm, peaceful and professional voices! Very good journalism along with excellent information. I’m looking forward to hearing a lot more episodes!! The longer, the better! Keep up the good work!!

Life doesn’t come with an instruction manual on how to adult. This is the podcast to help you figure it out, with hosts who feel like friends asking the questions you might be too embarrassed to ask but need to know!!!

Randomly stumbled upon this podcast today… I might be a little bit too old for some of the content (in my 50s), but I immediately shared the first episode (retirement) to my son, who is graduating college and in dire need of some financial guidance (judging by his credit card bills). He loved it and is a fan. I will probably keep listening in hopes of a “how to do laundry” episode (because I shamefully still rely on my wife for that one….)

BobbySams109 · May 2023

I loved the first episode and it's exactly the kind of podcast I've been looking for! It's mind-boggling to consider all the seemingly trivial knowledge we're taught in school from a young age, while crucial real-life lessons that can be applied directly to our lives are often overlooked.

PaulMatthews83 · May 2023

I just listened to the home security episode and was put off by the increasing product placement throughout the show. The episode starts with an ad for a specific home security company, fine, gotta make money, I can skip it if I really care, may lend slight bias but I’ll keep an ear out for that. But then the same company gets worked into the script, a study that shows how effective it is is mentioned without reference to the sponsorship by the same company, the name is dropped a few more times - at this point I move on because it can’t be skipped and it pushes the possibility of slight bias to the actuality of significant bias. Infomercial, that’s the term I’m looking for! I haven’t thought about those for years but I guess ‘90s are back, in more ways than fashion! From other reviews it seems like earlier episodes are better, so I’ll start at the beginning👍🏼
