As a P.I. I am constantly looking for good audio entertainment and after finding this dude on YouTube, thanks to his Vegas adventure, I have been hooked! Today, I’m finishing up the last played episode and honestly can’t wait for more. Dougie, you are a master of your craft and I’ll be telling everyone to check out your show!

I found Dougie through TikTok via the Stairs in the Woods story which I’m sure many can relate to. I’ve been a fan ever since and have been listening for a long time by YouTube and have been using the stories to go to sleep. The stories are definitely spooky, but Dougie’s narration style feels like a friend telling you a story rather than a narrator trying to give you frights. This narration style is perfect for my listening preferences. Absolutely love these stories and I replay so many as well in case something new isn’t available because they’re that fun to listen to

(Remember folks, podcasters can’t choose most of the ads that interrupt them - check with the platform about that.) Engaging, efficient delivery of slightly-left-of-reality stories composed in an accessible, emotionally honest, conversational style. Military-grade dry wit (the Sedona episode made me cackle!) and genuinely insightful and heartfelt moments lurk within. Found by way of Mr. Ballen. I’m a fan of him, Bedtime Stories, Kowabana, Old Gods of Appalachia, Silt Verses, and Welcome To Night Vale; hopefully that imparts the high quality (and flavor) here. Were I a senior high teacher, I would absolutely play an episode or two for students alongside works of Mark Twain and Ambrose Bierce, to show how American cultural identity is expressed in the stories we tell and the ways we hope to conduct ourselves when we encounter our fears. And help them remember to lock up and sleep with the lights on. Maybe it’s better that I’m not a teacher. Anyway follow this podcast. You won’t regret it!
