A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

This is a great podcast and is well researched. I’ve learned new things about cases id heard many times. The host is a great speaker and is always understandable and clear. My only question is at the end Vanessa says to come back next time and we’ll decode the episode together. What does that mean? Because she never talks about the episode again. So I’m confused. That’s my only question. Lol.

Love the podcast! But I’m wondering if you could remove the heartbeat sound from the intro part of the background soundtrack? For those of us with audio/anxiety issues it can be really distracting. I find myself listening to it and starting to panic a bit. Aside from that, love the show and keep it up!

I love this show and find listening to Vanessa to be a real joy. Many voices on podcasts really grate on my nerves but her voice is soothing and perfect. Got a subscription to Crime House just to listen to her commercial-free!

Just listened to the first episode and I enjoyed it very much. Fantastic narration by Vanessa Richardson, in-depth research and great writing! Looking forward to more 😊

Nic Byron · Aug 2025

This podcast is just an over simplified version of better researched long form true crime docuseries. It is difficult to listen to any episode that I have any prior knowledge of because very often they describe parts of these complex stories inaccurately. Sometimes it’s just annoying and other times it is insulting. This podcast is what is wrong with true crime sometimes. It’s trying to be too entertaining and lighthearted.
