I don't care for most podcasts. I have listened to ones by a favorite tv show cast members, it was a snooze. I have tried to listen to ones intended to be educational and there was too much filler. I preordered the audiobook "Cocaine and Rhinestones" because I am a big George and Tammy fan. Because of that order, I found this podcast. I have basically been binge listening since I found it. The shows are extremely well written, well researched, and really hold my interest. I am admittedly a huge country music fan, and just a few exceptions, the era Tyler covers is my era. My father was raised on artists like Hank Williams, and Web Pierce. As he got older he continued like country music like Jim Reeves, Patsy Cline and George Jones. I was born in 1967 and like many kids love the music I was raised on. I can't recommend the show enough!

I am currently listening to "Cocaine & Rhinestones" for a second time. It is entertaining and informative. If you love country music, this is a must-listen podcast. Each episode tells a story from the last century, providing insight and fascinating details about people you have heard of and many you have not, all of whom have had a tremendous influence on the development and growth of country music. What we listen to now is connected to these stories, lending considerable insight into the music we love.

Stumbled upon this podcast while searching for a song “Harper Valley PTA”. Weeks later I have listened to every episode, and now I have a new appreciation of everything country music. Informative, entertaining, and authentic, you can’t do better than TMC.
