Beyond The Ring

I’m 14 and Rian just came to our fair last year to judge. I was amazed at how amazing he really was in person. I’ve been watching all his videos and I’ve been a fan for a long time so when I heard he had a podcast I about screamed! He’s such an amazing person and he does such great things for us kids. Listening to the podcast is so educational, funny, exciting , and im so great full I had a chance to show in front of him. It’s so great to hear a judge’s perspective on showing in the ring, and he’s has some amazing tips and tricks. I’ve been showing for 7 years now so I’ve shown infront of a lot of people and Rian was my favorite. Thank you so much for helping us kids! ♥️

Being a East Texas Market Goat Show mom, I love the perspective on each episode. I listen while at work, and often bust out laughing way to loud…that the other come check on me. Everything they talk about is so relatable on all levels! Keep up the great work!

I discovered this podcast from my BF. I love the balance and banter of masculinity to totally femininity between the two of them! I don’t get into showing livestock, but have learned a lot about animals that can actually help in ways with household pets or livestock. I also get a big kick out of their conservative political discussions and loved when they had a phone interview with the “Tiger King” himself! Impressive and unique! They are hilarious, talented and silly. That seems to create a great balance to keep me coming back occasionally. Looking forward to the next episode! Keep it up Dale and Ryan!!! Dale’s grounded and Ryan is hysterical with nuisance and flair.

I have shown to Ryan and he is awesome. This is the only podcast I’ve found that is about showing life stock that I actually like. Ryan and Dale make me laugh every day( I listen to the episode over and over again) I absolutely love this podcast! As a 15 year old pig showman, my parents can definitely say I have become a better showman since I’ve started listening to this! I recommend it to all showman!!!

Ryan came to Bedford , Indiana to judge several species. He ran through our market beef show, 41 head, in less than 45 minutes. Our swine show normally lasts 4-5 hours. He was done with the gilts and barrows in 2 hours!! Some kids on had 2-3 minutes in the ring. Ryan could not get tHem in and out fast enough. For senior showmanship , he told them to just open the gates and enter….it was like dam. broke. These kids worked so hard and Ryan didn’t give them a shot or time in any class. Parents were unsure of the kid’s placings because he didn’t pen. He pointed and used his hand to say the placings. It was heart breaking for a 4h show. He was so impatient with the kids and wanted to get out of the barn ASAP. It was so obvious … he stood tapping his foot. He spoke about making the kids feel good as they leave the ring and he did not to this. Our kids were so excited to have him but we’re so disappointed in they way he treated them. I was excited to get him to our county because our kids were going to have a great and encouraging experience. Our beef committee asked him to slow down for our beef show, after the market show. It really ticked him off!!! But, he did slow it down. He was not the judge that was at Monroe County in Bloomington, IN in 2022. We have been showing for many years. We have shown cattle nationally and no the ropes. I’m not complaining about placings!! He knows livestock! He likes what he likes and it’s one person’s opinion. But these kids deserved more! The kids deserved time!!!
