Backstage At the Spire

by The Spire Center for the Performing Arts

The stories, personalities, and conversations behind the performances. Backstage At The Spire takes listeners beyond the curtain and into the fascinating world of the Spire Center for Performing Arts. Hosted by Dona Maher, Board Member, Executive Producer of Sunday Serenades, and Director of the Spire Music Academy, alongside six-time Emmy Award–winning pianist and composer Lenny Williams, Professor in the Film Scoring Department at Berklee College of Music and Distinguished Faculty at Spire Music Academy, the podcast offers an intimate, entertaining, and revealing look at the people who make the Spire come alive. Each episode invites listeners to meet the extraordinary people behind the scenes and on the stage—from President and Founder Bob Hollis and the original members of the Spire team, to longtime staff and supporters, artists, educators, lecturers, comedians, and performing musicians from every genre represented on our events calendar. Through candid conversations, personal stories, behind-the-scenes moments, artistic insights, and a healthy dose of personality, Backstage At The Spire explores what inspires our guests, how their careers have unfolded, and what it really takes to bring unforgettable performances and experiences to the stage. From classical music to jazz, rock, Broadway, comedy, film scoring, lectures, and everything in between, every episode reveals another side of the remarkable creative community that makes the Spire unique. Come backstage. Meet the people. Hear the stories. Discover what happens when the lights go down and the real conversations begin.
