What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

This is sincerely the best true crime podcast I’ve ever listened to. Lambert treats Kristin Smart’s case with so much respect. It’s so well done.

The only podcast that has ever moved me to tears. Absolutely incredible storytelling. The work done here is inspiring, and I think the outcome speaks for itself.

Wow. I listened to this in 2026 so I got all the updates as well. I decided not to look anything up ahead of time and the way this podcast moves you, I truly have no words. Make your kids listen before college. I’m happy the family got Chris Lambert. He was relentless in the perfect way with his heart led by love and care for the Smart family. I’ve never been CRAVING to listen to a podcast and the detail is like no other crime podcast I’ve listened to. The episodes are long but every second is needed. Thanks Chris!

I've listened to many, many podcasts, and this is one of the best. Well-researched, great writing, great interviews and insights. It's just so dang well done. Not only that, but it actually helped bring this case to justice. Awesome. Listen to this one - you won't be sorry you did.

Your Own Backyard is everything a great true crime investigation should be. It’s thorough. It’s expertly presented. And it actually achieves an outcome. I can think of no better example of true crime that actually moves the ball forward. There are many great true crime investigations. This one sits with the best.
