I listen to these when I’m on the road to a gig. Great curation as far as albums discussed from jazz and beyond. Wouldn’t recommend if you aren’t familiar with the album being dissected, but if you are this can be a fun way to hear a discussion about great music. Seems mostly geared towards casual listeners and fans rather than music nerds and musicians, but that’s okay. Sometimes too many stanky grunts at unnecessary places, sometimes hypocritical (saying Little One and Survival of the Fittest are worth listening to but always skipped over - then proceeding to skip over them), not always accurate or insightful (thinking about the episode for A Love Supreme specifically where it was said “it’s not the kind of album where you can overdub your parts” even though Trane DID overdub on that). Also comparing everything to Kind of Blue and ranking how snobby an album is… corny and lame af I skip that whole outro bit every time. But the plus side is the conversation can be enough to spark another listen to some of my favorite albums of all time. Using the Moises thing to isolate instruments can be cool when they’re really digging in (Charlie Hunter isolated on Spanish Joint? C’mon!). Overall, I’ll keep listening while on the road.

Love them reviewing albums (Steely Dan: Goucho, Aja. Joni Mitchell: Blue. Fleetwood Mac: Rumors). They give you all the inside baseball music stuff that goes over my head but they break it down very nicely. Super informative BUT also an enjoyable duo to listen to! Super great chemistry! You can't teach chemistry and these 2 got it!! Keep them coming!
