He is politically savvy, has a great sense of humor, and has the best crash-outs!!! I wish Laura had more of a voice on the show. Just once I wish she would finish her thoughts or argue them down. Ebro is an annoying contrarian. His favorite thing to do is play devil’s advocate and/or argue the opposite of whatever Peter and Laura are talking about. He’s such a preachy “know it all” who basically throws a tantrum when his co-hosts challenge what he’s saying. He loudly rants and over-talks them almost every episode. Peter tries to challenge him sometime but he eventually folds. It’s the most annoying part of their dynamic. All that said, I’m still a fan. ☺️
I’m glad Styles P said what he said, because honestly it needed to be said. It feels like you guys sometimes stay in a bit of a bubble when it comes to this stuff. You’ll call out Republicans, which is fair, but whenever someone says both sides have issues, the response is usually that Democrats aren’t as bad. That just comes off a little tone deaf. Back when you were at Hot 97, I could kind of brush it off and think maybe that’s just the environment or what comes with the platform. But hearing the same mindset now, in a space where you have full independence, it’s a little disappointing. That’s why it was refreshing to hear Styles P break it down the way he did. A lot of people feel that way. We can’t keep falling for surface-level things like who sounds better, looks better, or has more polish. At the end of the day, like he said, it’s the same game. One side just hides it better, the other is more upfront about it. And honestly, there’s something to be said about the ones who are more direct, because at least it creates space for people like Jasmine Crockett and others to speak up, push back, and try to get real things done. When everything is calm and polished on the surface, like Rosenberg was saying, it can feel easier, but a lot still goes on behind the scenes that people don’t see. I actually think where we are right now, even though it’s uncomfortable, is necessary. There’s more awareness, more honesty, and real conversations happening. Before, a lot of things were still happening, wars, deportations, policies that hurt people, but they weren’t talked about the same way. It didn’t feel as loud, but it was still real. So yeah, I appreciate Styles P saying that, especially on your platform. That said, I rock with you guys. I’ve been listening since the Hot 97 days when I was a teenager, and I’m 47 now still tuning in. I respect what you’re building and I enjoy the conversations. Just wanted to share my perspective, no shade at all. Keep doing your thing.
This show will be important because it creates space for real, unfiltered conversations about hip-hop, culture, and politics beyond just music. Even off radio, their impact still matters—they challenged narratives and treated the culture with seriousness and respect while keeping it entertaining.
No other podcast will ever have you tapped in like them! It’s real hard truths spoken, laughs and grace when needed. Have always been community first and really are a family. You can hear it and feel the energy when listening.
