This podcast kept me in suspense episode to episode. Very well done!! I loved hearing all of the players speaking in their own voices. I was drawn in to Larry’s warmth just like everyone that knew him

I liked the show but, all along, I wanted to hear more about his personal life during the period - the strain on his wife and kids. In episode 6 there was finally a brief discussion of their life during the escape to Virginia Beach. And, then, nothing else until life after prison when he met a woman in FL and got married again. No mention of how and when his previous marriage ended. That, to me, is a big flaw because it left me wondering if this entire podcast was influenced in some way. All in all, informative, thank you for making it.

I just finished listening to all these episodes. There are so many thoughts I have about it after becoming personally, unknowingly, involved with a cocaine dealer/user for a year and 1/2, right as my mother was dying. Then being stalked for years afterwards. His father was a medical doctor and one sister was a rocket scientist with NASA. His other sister was married to his best friend who was also a medical doctor who kept the man I dated supplied with OxyContin. This seemed like a very good family. Except it wasn’t. I was recently divorced with children and as naive about drugs as anyone could be. This was several years ago and I’m still processing the confusion. Unfortunately, through that relationship I learned about violence, deceit, and the dangerous, deadly world of drugs and addiction. This podcast seems to portray Larry Lavin as some kind of really good guy. He is a monster. He made millions of dollars while so many thousands of lives were destroyed. But it doesn’t go into those destroyed lives. He didn’t care one single bit. What it does is verify that we live in a system that puts money above everything else. It also made his wife look like an innocent bystander. She was involved in every plan to evade detection. I guess the podcast could be looked upon as a cautionary tale for the innocent and naive. It is well done but makes LL seems almost a hero. The comments here who say they were cheering him on, are disheartening but perhaps they haven’t experienced the destruction of addiction. The title is appropriate.
