What the Hell Is Going On

I love this podcast and it has become one of my favorites. I lead a constitutional conservative forum in my community and this podcast has inspired and informed material that I have used. Please keep up the great work, including interviews and conversations. You may not know it, but you’re helping me out!

While I appreciate the topics and most guests are quite knowledgeable and professional, I have to remind myself that podcasters are not held to the same rules and standards as journalists. I don’t love the snarky comments and off color remarks. But the hosts clearly enjoy saying them so if you can get past that, it’s worth your time.

As a center right Independent, I was sure hoping to find a podcast that presented issues in a more grown up manner than the 24 hour news channels. And I hoped it could be found at AEI. However, that just doesn’t seem to be the case. Enough with the childish jabs of intentionally not pronouncing people’s names correctly and the felon comments. If you’re going to refer to Hunter Biden as a felon, why not Trump? Or better yet, how about knocking it off and delivering content that doesn’t come across as the petty name calling heard during recess on any elementary school. Come on!! Stop being part of the problem and be more of the solution. You’re so much better than that. Take a cue from how Arthur Brooks carries himself. Love your enemies people ✌️

I enjoy Mark and Dani’s banter and it’s clear they have a good friendship in addition to their working relationship. They’re both very knowledgeable and informative as well. Sometimes the guests can be a little boring or over my head so I’ll fast forward to Mark & Dani’s recap at the end. Keep up the good work!

The recent episode with John Yoo was neither informative or helpful to those of us that turn to AEI for thoughtful discussion on current events. No push back on his responses, no counter thought at all. Just “yes” all the way down. His views (past and present) are at least controversial enough to truly engage with. His opinions may be correct in the end, but you did nothing but use straw-men and apply motives to the people you disagree with. This podcast isn’t worth a follow anymore.
