What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

The two hosts that kicked off my love of daily WAD, Gideon Resnick (ORIGINAL SINGLE HOST) and Josie Duffy Rice, they allowed me to be able to breathe through the toughest news. The addition of Tre'vell Anderson and Priyanka Aribindi took a minute for me to adapt to, but eventually Priyanka became my favorite voice on the show. The recent change to a single host, the mighty Jane Coasten, also takes a moment to adapt to. But, she commands the news. Her short audio essays are powerful and give me the fight I need to make it through the day as the US drops further into everything I don’t want it to be. Thank you, Crooked, for bringing Jane on. I hope other listeners can have the patience it takes to adapt to change and hear the energy and insightful wit Jane brings to WAD.

My favorite way to start the day. It gives me a brief rundown of the news I need with a side of sass — which, let’s be honest, we all need right now.

pharlow7 · Dec 2024

I’ve been an occasional listener- I liked many of the hosts but the “easy listening/casual” approach didn’t engage me- the team has stepped up and Jane is excellent- connected, gritty, insightful- yet still an engaging vibe. Try it!

I listen every day, perfect amount of info and analysis, and then go on with my day. Jane is wonderful, love her!!!

Jenn Jenn13 · Nov 2024

This used to be a great and humorous show to help us all deal with and fee not-alone in a seemingly crazy world. It was part of my weekday mornings. Then it just became unlistenable and not funny. The last remnant I was staying subscribed for was How We Got Here, in HOPES it would branch off and become its own weekly show. Now that it’s also gone, I guess so am I. Thanks for helping me through 2019-2023

Krain · Dec 2024

I’ve been a listener of Crooked Media from the beginning. I’m disappointed in their recent show about the New Jersey drone/UAP flap of Nov-Dec 2024. I am from the tri-state area and have multiple friends who have been subjected to these overflights of unknown aircraft. One clever friend of mine in northern NJ even recorded hours of footage alongside a live view of ADS-B transponder data. The sightings did not correlate with registered aircraft on the flight tracker and there were literally over 100 over his house in a night. Like a parade of drones. Or whatever they are. These aren’t commercially available drones - too large and linger for hours. WAD needs to do more thorough research before painting a firm conclusion on this. Other mass delusions aside, just because the DoD and largest media outlets would rather throw cold water on the drone issue doesn’t change things for people on the ground. This is still going on, mind you. Anomalous health incidents as well (Aka Havana Syndrome). Directed energy weapons are real. It’s all so offensive.
