What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

BBC Newshour is a staple. All major news agencies get their international news reportage from the BBC World Service. The major downsides are the ads on the podcast are interminable and the free promotion for a Christopher Nolan movie is nauseating and does not constitute news.

Great program for staying informed - smart reporting, global coverage, and expert opinions. I listen every night. 👍🏼👍🏼

PadMan MSP · Apr 2026

I have always enjoyed the reporting from the BBC, but the producers of this twice-daily podcast tend to recycle material. In the second episode of the day I always have to skip through stuff that had been played word for word in the earlier installment. I'd rather it just be produced once daily if that's how it's going to be, or for the later update to be only 5-10 minutes if that's all the original material available.

Please consider a daily news podcast for kids. My kids love to listen to the news in the morning but there is too much strife for me to let them listen to BBC on the way to school. There is a podcast for the US market called Kid Nuz. My kids love it but it is very US centric. You are best positioned to do something similar but focus on those of us who want our kids to be global citizens. Thanks for giving this some thoughtful consideration!

Eme@Kenya · Jan 2022

I appreciate the BBC for offering a different perspective from U.S. news offerings, and for bringing news from around the world. However, BBC “reporting” continues an accelerating slide toward delivering only extreme liberal views on every subject in every report. With the absence of balanced, objective reporting, the BBC is rapidly losing relevance as a source of news.

Uncle Ducky Dude · Jun 2023

James Menendez really comes across as a condescending bully when interviewing just about anyone. This certainly does not bring a clearer picture of the real story to your listeners. There is a proper time to be aggressive and tough with questions, but this does not mean constantly and always. How about a small bit of humility?
