Welcome to the Family with Telma and Kellie

by Audiation, Inc.

"Welcome to the Family with Telma and Kellie" is the ultimate insider's look at the hit 90s sitcom "Family Matters," told through the words of show stars Telma Hopkins (Aunt Rachel) and Kellie Williams (Laura Winslow) - castmates who have become like family over the years. The duo will recount every episode from the series in order, taking you behind the scenes to reveal never-before-heard stories, recount hilarious blunders and share their personal experiences as the show grew into one of the longest-running and most-watched series featuring an African-American cast. In addition to guest appearances from across the cast and production team, Telma and Kellie will answer your questions about the show. In the 90s it seemed like much of America was raised by "Family Matters" - and now it's time to revisit your favorite relatives on "Welcome to the Family with Telma and Kellie."

What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

I had originally written a review when this first started and my thoughts were that this podcast was less than stellar. It had gotten off to a clunky start; but since then, I’ve kept listening and it has vastly improved (I’ve been watching Family Matters for 35 years; my friends even make fun of me because I legit watch it as part of my regular rotation)! Both ladies have found their voice as podcasters, and the guest stars have been a delight. Family Matters is such a rare show; highlighting the multi-generational Black family experience, particularly in the early episodes when the ensemble was showcased and not just Urkel. What’s been particularly fun was when they’ve brought Bob Boyett in to discuss how the show was made. Looking forward to more episodes with the “inside baseball.”

This is my favorite podcast. It’s the perfect nostalgic listen with Aunt Rachel and Laura. They truly approach everything they do with excellence, and you can feel the care and intention woven into every detail. I especially love how they begin each episode by sharing a historical fact from the time the original show first aired; it’s such a thoughtful touch that grounds the conversation in that moment and makes the nostalgia feel even more meaningful and alive. They deliver each episode at a level that truly feels unmatched, seamlessly weaving together the episodes, the actors, the memories, and the present moment. I also love how they speak about the cast as a real family, both on and off screen..sharing personal stories, like how Telma was so close with Kellie growing up, and honoring Grandma Winslow as the legend she was and remains. They celebrate their individual histories with such pride and care, and the way they highlight the beauty of Black history and the extraordinary strength, leadership, love, and wisdom of Black women is incredibly powerful. I love them and feel so grateful to have so many episodes to listen to. It truly feels like a blessing. They’re humble, deeply talented, and it shows in every single episode.

I’ve been a fan of Family Matters for as long as I can remember. I love how relatable Telma and Kellie are. They’ve made me burst out laughing a few times. It makes my heart smile being able to hear two people who I feel like I’ve known my entire life. I’ll keep listening. Lyle The Halloween Podcast

I am loving this podcast. I am always going to watch/listen to anything with Telma as I’m a big fan of anything she does. It’s great getting to hear her & Kellie just chatting it up. Despite seeing them both on my TV for years, this is the first time that I’ve been able to hear them as themselves & not characters. They are funny & interesting just being themselves. Them recapping & giving inside info on the show is the icing on the cake. I’m glad the show ran so long so I have many many episodes of the pod left to look forward to. Hopefully I can even be a guest one day! 🤣👀

I love this show even after all these years later and appreciate the effort into creating this podcast. But I don’t want to hear from actors who weren’t even on the show. (Example Loretta Devine)I want to hear more behind the scenes stuff from Kellie and Telma and less going off on tangents. Would be great to get guests who were either cast members or even crew members instead
