The Thinking Practitioner

by Til Luchau & Whitney Lowe

For the practitioner who’s never stopped being curious. Til Luchau and Whitney Lowe bring together leading researchers, master clinicians, and big questions from across bodywork, massage, and manual therapy — exploring not just what we do with our hands, but why it works and how to do it better. Smart, grounded, and genuinely useful conversations for the somatic arts and sciences. For professional practitioners in bodywork, massage therapy, structural integration, chiropractic, myofascial and myotherapy, orthopedics, sports massage, physical therapy, and osteopathy — as well as yoga, strength and conditioning, and allied professions. This podcast is not medical or treatment advice.

What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

With 20 years and counting as a massage therapist, this is one of many ways I keep my spark for the work aglow. These conversations help me refine my ‘why’ and keep me in the loop around current thinking in the bodywork field. Much appreciated Til and Whitney!

It is refreshing to hear thoughtful, intelligent conversations in the field of massage. Til and Whitney are friendly, compassionate and fun to listen to. Thank you both for putting your hard work into this podcast, and for providing such meaningful and helpful content for us all.

naturebodyconnection · Jul 2024

As a career massage therapist and bodyworker I enjoy every episode of this show. They make me think about what am I really doing and what do I think I’m doing. It also raises questions about what I was told I was doing when I went to massage school and what I told others we were doing when I taught at massage schools in comparison to what research says is likely happening. Highly recommended, especially as most of my clients don’t know or care about the science of massage, this show keeps me in tune with that after a day of providing that Zen space for my clients

Jason Nadeau · Jul 2022

I enjoy so many of these episodes! Many technical and functional episodes I have re-listened to multiple times. Whitney asks thoughtful questions that require in depth answers from his guests.
