After one podcast episode, I’m hooked! There’s a purpose to these discussions about books. I’ve loved the wide variety of fiction books that have been chosen for the Queen’s Reading Room. This episode was well produced, intelligent, & Ian is thoughtful & lovely to listen to.
I also appreciate that it’s NOT another self-centered podcast that is all about “I” and “me”, judgmental opinions, & invented narratives. No one is attacking others in this podcast. I’ve grown to dislike this type opinionated poorly produced podcasts.
There are real reasons for these discussions. And the variety of guests and book discussions that involve a wide variety of genres will keep discussions fresh & avoid predictable monotony. How delightful this will be!

I loved the first episode and was eagerly looking forward to the second because I like Joanna Lumley. But it was such a disappointment! She spoke so fast and took so many noisy breaths that it was difficult to follow. I’m hoping that the next episode will be better!
