This podcast is my lifeline in all seasons—particularly my “impossible.” In my weakness, our God is strong, and Davey’s words—in book and podcast—echo in my mind to point me back to Jesus, time and time again. Thank you, Davey, for your heart for Jesus and for proclaiming His goodness no matter the circumstance.
In May of 2020, my husband and I experienced the unimaginable pain of losing our 15-year-old son to suicide. Two years ago, I discovered the Nothing Is Wasted podcast, and I haven’t stopped listening since. Every episode has been a source of encouragement, insight, and deep healing. I often find myself taking notes because there is just so much wisdom shared by Davey and the incredible guests who generously open their hearts and stories. As career educators, my husband and I have since created a suicide prevention and awareness presentation that we now bring to schools across our state. While our message doesn’t explicitly contain faith-based language, it is deeply rooted in the truths and hope we’ve absorbed from this podcast. The stories we’ve heard here have shaped the way we speak to students about pain, resilience, and purpose—and we’ve seen firsthand how lives are being touched. I love that God continues to get the glory through this work. Nothing Is Wasted has not only helped me partner with God in redeeming my own pain, but it's also playing a role in helping young people realize that their story isn't over. Davey, thank you—and thank you to the entire NIW ministry team—for being faithful in your calling. You are truly making a difference.
I am a licensed psychotherapist and listen to this podcast regularly. It is a wonderful resource which provides encouragement, wise counsel, and points its listeners to the One who sees you and cares for you no matter how dark or desolate your journey may be. Highly recommend this resource!
I recently discovered this podcast after a friend gave me a copy of Nothing is Wasted. I was so encouraged by the book, and continue to be encouraged daily as I listen my way through all of the episodes of the podcast. As a fellow sojourner on the road of suffering, I’m so encouraged by each person’s account of God’s faithfulness in the darkest of valleys. Thank you so much for making this content available and for helping me to discover purpose in the painful trials of life.
