There isn’t another NBA podcast that covers every team around the league with the regularity that Kevin does. The quality of his guests are also unmatched. I also love the occasional NFL segments. I get why people don’t but you can just skip them. Kevin is a great host and I learn a lot from them so much so that it makes me hope he starts adding even more sports in the years to come. Keep it up!
Thanks for making such an enjoyable pod, I listen thirty minutes every day when I wake up and it makes me enjoy waking up early. I hope you keep up the great work because the pod means a lot to me and I tune in to old and new episodes daily. Hope you continue doing so well.
This change has been a positive for the level of basketball discourse in which you’re engaged. Guests like Nate Duncan raise the level of the show’s analysis. There are people who are clearly students of the game (Duncan, Steve Jones, Haberstroh, Lowe, et al.), and there are people who try too hard to convince the audience they really watch all the minutes (e.g., Vecenie). I hope you’ll keep leaning into the real nerdery. You have grown as an analyst over the last several years and are now one of the few, meaningful voices. Never stop studying.
I never ever ever leave reviews for anything, I am breaking a longstanding rule of mine to just thank you for this Chris Vernon episode. It’s so great to hear these guys again still haven’t found a better NBA podcast that features two guys with this much chemistry and such great opposite ends of the spectrum analysis. Enjoyable and nostalgic.
Kevin O’Connor clearly knows his stuff, and he can sound sharp and insightful. At least until the latest headline hijacks the show. His views often pivot with whatever’s breaking, leaving little room for context or deeper analysis. Entertaining in bursts, yes, but don’t expect the thoughtful discussion his tone promises.
Love you KOC, but your context when describing players feels very limited and slightly bias. Whenever you speak of a favorable player, you often say “he’s the best…” whether it’s defender, big, shooter, etc. Being the best is a term that should be limited to truly the best, not a vague description for any decent player.
