yes, it’s gossipy, catty, smarmy, dramatic.. but it is one of the best hockey podcasts around, if not, the best. their general hockey knowledge is unmatched, even though they only praise Canadian players. but it’s owned by Sportsnet, so what should we expect from a corporate media entity? they consistently trash Americans & Russians (and Europeans), but they always give Canadians the benefit of the doubt. it’s laughable how biased they are. but it’s still a great show. try it out and see if what i’m saying rings true.

Kyper & Bourne compliment each other very well and their national hour episodes have become a regular part of my hockey rotation. Never miss Friday with Mac, who seems to delight in reminding Sportsnet how shortsighted they were in dropping him. My one gripe would be when Sammy feels the need to project his Leafs bitterness all over the hour that’s literally dedicated to the league’s other 31 teams (and especially the other CDN teams). I can’t imagine the Sportsnet affiliates in the other CDN markets that broadcast the show want to hear him much either.

it’s THE TOPS. it’s not just a couple of random dudes talking hockey, but it feels like that, and they’re actually giving real opinions. not “PC” safe mainstream opinions that you get seemingly everywhere. somehow this show has piqued my interest in following (and rooting for, Sammy) the Toronto Maple Leafs after listening to their Leaf Hour podcasts. but don’t let that scare you away from listening. the main (national) hour is general NHL stuff. it’s fantastic. it’s the best. it’s the Wiz and nobody beats them. enjoy.
