One fantastically polished production team plus one stupendously talented voice acting cast brings together what I would have to call the single most gripping reimagining of a well-loved if dusty classic story. To rave about the episodes which have come out this far (chronologically in the fashion of Dracula Daily) would mean writing a Dracula-length novel myself. My friends and family are sick to un-death of hearing my recommendation of starting Re: Dracula. Please do yourself a favor and give it a try. Spooky and fun and clearly made with love, I'd give this one 10 stars if I could. Update: 20 stars now that Carmilla is being released! Méabh de Brún makes such an amazing Carmilla and the production quality is just as fantastic as the previous "season".

One of the main issues of reading older stories is having to encounter older ideas that have since been heavily disproven. For example, feeling the bumps on a person’s head and attempting to puzzle out their personality IS PSEUDOSCIENCE! This podcast calls out and disclaims this (and other) false/bizarre beliefs at the beginning of each episode. This allowed me to better enjoy the story because it sort of acted like a “Suspend Your Disbelief & Just Go With It” sign that would otherwise totally throw me off if I attempted to read the story as is. Add to that the fantastic voice acting and original songs gently peppered throughout for increased ambience, leaves one with a fantastic podcast!

I’ve read the novel, but the epistolary style made it difficult for me to retain it and I’ve always yearned to give the story another chance. Listening to this adaptation has been so enjoyable. The voice acting is so good and the fact that we *finally* have an actual Dutchman portraying Van Helsing is such a relief!

I loved listening to this last year! The voice acting is phenomenal and it was my absolute favorite thing to listen to while gardening. Having it show up in my feed all over again feels like getting a text from a friend! Specifically from my friends Jonathan, Mina, Lucy, and Lucy’s polycule.
