I sent it to my fellow horror group and they all agree with the fact that weve tried to get into other horror podcast shows and end up disappointed because there is no comparison! I love almost everything qcode does and this is one of my top five. The season 1 finale was such an unexpected turn and so moving. It really leaned into the power of storytelling and world building that takes place in fiction podcasts. The first time i listened to the first eps of s2, i was silently weeping doing stock work, grappling with all the things stolen from black and brown people on American soil, in the name of greed and “because i can.” Everyone involved in this is very good at their jobs and I’m really proud of y'all.

the first season had me hooked, however i really don’t understand the point of the slave storyline. not only were those episodes boring, they really didn’t give much to the story and were unnecessarily offensive. you can include black characters without making them slaves. had the first season kept it’s momentum this could’ve been incredible, however i couldn’t make it through season 2.
