Government · Nicholas Allen

Lesser Known Operators is my attempt to sit down and interview as many of the military's Special Operations Forces also known as "Operators" as I possibly can. There are a lot of really great "Operators" out there that no one has ever heard about. I want to go in to their experiences and learn some more about the best there are in our military.

I had the honor of being a guest on the Lesser Known Operators podcast, and it was an incredible experience. Nick was an outstanding host—insightful, respectful, and genuinely curious. It felt great to share my story and connect over the unique experiences that shaped me. I highly recommend tuning into the podcast if you’re looking for raw, authentic conversations from those who’ve lived it.
I’ve never served in special forces, but this podcast has been incredibly enlightening. Lesser Known Operators offers a rare glimpse into the lives and mindsets of people who’ve operated in some of the most intense environments imaginable. The variety of guests is impressive—each one brings a unique story, and I always walk away with something new to think about. Nicholas is a fantastic host. His chemistry with guests is effortless and authentic, whether he’s diving into serious topics or sharing a laugh. He asks the right questions, listens well, and knows how to guide the conversation without ever making it feel forced. If you’re curious about the world of special operations, leadership under pressure, or just enjoy hearing real stories from remarkable people, this show is absolutely worth your time.
Lesser Known Operators is making a difference. The show’s host, Nicholas Allen, is taking the brave first step, asking the right questions to dig into some of the most sensitive and vulnerable content. He may be interviewing former Special Forces soldiers, but the takeaways from these robust discussions can apply to us all. I am motivated by the stories shared, the journeys these guys have gone on. I appreciate the length of the episodes, because it reflects the depth and breadth of the conversations. The focus on mental health, both during and after military service, I believe is especially important. Nicholas Allen and his guests are helping to raise awareness, and provide support and camaraderie around mental health struggles & suicide. It is refreshing to hear the level of honesty and authenticity that comes through in these discussions, some with people known to the host, former battle buddies, and others he is meeting for the first time. This is a safe space for these extraordinary humans to bond, relive shared experiences, and talk openly and honestly about the costs and rewards of being a Green Beret in the United States military. Highly recommended!
It’s rare to find a podcast without an agenda today. Lessor Known Operators is a really cool insight into the often untold lives of former Operators. Tune in if you want to hear high performing warriors share their stories.
