First it was “UFO Rabbit Hole,” the earnest explorations of one person to wade through the fraught field of UFOs and see what sense she could make of it. This felt genuine and honest, which was refreshing in a world of grifters and cranks. Even the missteps felt human. This is what drew me in.
Then it was “Cosmosis,” the podcast arm of a documentary. This started to feel more promotional. The writing became less focused. The interviews meandered more and dealt with more personal inside baseball. Concerningly, I began to hear GPT-isms here and there in the scripts, but I brushed it off. Maybe it was a coincidence.
Now it is “Inquiry.” It’s unclear what the point is now. Interesting seeds of ideas are buried under AI slop in the scripts. It’s supposed to be about how to think critically, but the writers are offloading their writing to an LLM? Bizarre.
Whether it’s just market forces or some kind of meddling, at each step it got less genuine and more like a content mill. Really fell off.

First thing’s first: this is not journalism.
In fact, this a text book example of “confirmation bias”. Does that it make unentertaining? Absolutely not! As an unintentional comedy or as a psychological case study at what can happen to someone (the host) in the world of the algorithm, it can be immensely fascinating. But there is no scientific rigor or critical thinking applied to its subject matter, so tread carefully & take it all with dump truck worth of salt.
