Holy Troublemakers

by SQPN, Inc.

The Catholic Church wasn’t built by the cautious. It was built by mystics who argued with emperors, missionaries who crossed oceans with nothing but faith, martyrs who refused the easy way out, and saints who managed to be both completely human and completely on fire for God. Holy Troublemakers tells their stories. Each episode, host Dom Bettinelli takes you inside the life of one of the men or women who shaped two thousand years of Catholic history — not as plaster statues, but as real human beings who struggled, failed, doubted, and ultimately chose something greater than themselves. From Saint Peter on the shores of Galilee to Dorothy Day on the streets of New York, these are the people who made a holy mess of the world, and left it better for it.

What listeners say

I’m impressed with this first episode. It’s well written, and the music and sound effects do not detract from the narration. I appreciate the clear distinction between historical record and legend — and the importance of both. I think this will be a good series.

I’ve recently decided to stop protesting and convert to the true faith, Catholicism, and this podcast is just what I’ve been looking for! I am often both loud and wrong, but I am on fire for Our Lord and it’s a breath of fresh air to learn about saints who are stubborn, messy, and very human troublemakers just like me. Thanks Dom! Great first episode, superb storytelling, and I am excitedly looking forward to the next episode!

Very good quality I love the storytelling and highly educational with scripture and tradition. I like the sound design of this first episode.

Sound and entertaining. Good audio too. 30 minutes would be a sweet spot, but I can’t complain. Looking forward to Mother Angelica’s episode. Well done, Dom.
