Halloweenies: A Horror Franchise Podcast

by Bloody FM

Halloweenies® is a weekly horror franchise podcast. Each season, co-hosts Justin Gerber, Dan Caffrey, McKenzie Gerber, Rachel Reeves, and Michael Roffman slice and dice through an iconic series -- one movie at a time. In the past, they've covered Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Scream, The Evil Dead, Chucky, and Alien. This year? The Universal Monsters! Produced by Michael Roffman. Edited by Eric Bunnell. Music by McKenzie Gerber, The Most/Charlie Laurence, and Billy Yost/The Kickback.

What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

This has been sort of a comfort podcast for me over the last few years. Great stories, insight, and conversations about horror classics. I often find myself re-listening to episodes I’ve heard numerous times before just because they’re so entertaining. Every episode feels like you’re hanging out with your best friends. It’s been my go-to podcast for years and I don’t see that changing anytime soon

sandypetunias · Feb 2025

I really love their deep dives into these movies, way deeper than I might even want to know but it’s great! Bring up the soundtracks, background references, and everything! I started with the Evil Dead series a couple years ago and have been jumping around to different ones as I watch the movies. Just finished Scream, great series!

dukefett · Dec 2024

The five main hosts, Mike, Mack, Rachel, Justin, and Dan are the Voltron of horror podcasters, and they rotate who gets to be the black lion episode to episode. The deep dives into the backstories of some of these movies answers questions I never thought to ask. Some criticize the tangents they go on, but the camaraderie amongst them is genuine, and it makes me feel like I’m part of the conversation. If I want to listen to a dry monologue devoid of personality—which some people apparently want—I’ll listen to the WSJ or Economist podcasts. - Mike in DC
