What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

This is easily one of my favorite podcasts. Every episode is well-researched and such a joy to listen to. I’ve listened to several episodes more than once because they’re just that good.

I am an illustrator in a family of musicians, but the thing we all have in common is our love of a good story. I love how the host takes us through the stories of all these scores! Though I tell stories through comic books, I love hearing about how composers tell stories through music! 💖

Winged Elf Girl · Apr 2026

If you’re looking for the above qualities, look no further. This show is truly a gem among all the podcasts out there. Unlike many shows that are just people talking to each other, the care and editing that David W Collins puts into the show is inspiring. I love music, but this show helps put words into why a theme or motif captures the heart. Thank you David, and I hope you continue to make this amazing show!

Ulmooftdeep · Jan 2026

I was so happy to see the Soundtrack Show return with The Two Towers music. These episodes are so thorough and well-written. You can tell the amount of work and love that the host puts into each episode. I love learning about this music, the composers, the origins and thought process behind this genre. I don’t care how long I have to wait between each series. It’s a breath of fresh air. And I hope it continues. Thank you for all that you do!

Myparrotice · Dec 2025

I appreciate the musical breakdowns and look forward to episodes but the length of time between episodes now always leaves me wondering if he simply abandoned the podcast. If not, get some guest hosts to keep the momentum going if you’re too busy and pop in now and then when work slows down. Otherwise, just bring a formal end to the podcast.
