So glad this pod is back! Some how missed the return and love having episodes to binge! I was literally thinking “I wish fat mascara still existed” while scrolling through beauty pods last week. Welcome back, Jess! Also Andrea from People is fantastic!

Absolutely LOVE this podcast. Jess and Jen have an unmatched rapport; they are so funny and knowledgeable. I am a licensed esthetician and I have learned so much from all the incredible guests they have interviewed. If you want to laugh, learn and get a much needed break from life, these are your gals!! Also love their new hosts Julee and Garrett. They bring some fresh energy and ideas to the pod. Now stop reading this long winded review and start listening to Fat Mascara!

Listening is like your just hanging out with your besties talking shop. As a fellow beauty junkie, I love the science, history, cultural, trending knowledge that is shared. Many recommendations have been purchased from this show 😜 Keep up the great work friends!

SequinandtheCity · Apr 2025

This is a very light topic podcast - the beauty industry. But it is handled with humor and intellect. The hosts are as relatable as beauty editors can be. They always have smart insights served with a side of humor. I thoroughly enjoy every hour spent with this show.

Really disappointed with this podcast. Elitist takes with no accountability. My bar is not that high for a beauty podcast, but when I don’t have respect for the hosts, let alone their commentary, why would I waste my time listening? Jenn and Jess truly talk in the tone of teenagers, and I mean that in the worst way, while trying (and failing) to use elevated language to seemingly make themselves sound smart. Plus, there have been several times where they’ve been blatantly wrong (especially takes on the economy). They’re incredibly egotistical and forget to check their bias at the door. My breaking point has been the semi-worship of celebrities — they are dismissive about a random person on TikTok to go viral but totally find bending over backwards to make sure they don’t critique celebrities’ choices (I’m sorry, beta blockers for every stressful moment??). Get a grip and think about the average person. Think of the ramifications. They’re two-faced and hypocritical. Jess sounds mean and dismissive on the most recent episode. Actually, she sounds like she has no desire to be there. No one is forcing her though? I’m confused as to the attitude on a beauty podcast. Highly recommend pivoting to Gloss Angeles, where the hosts are incredibly knowledgeable and also decent people. They don’t knock down different people or viewpoints, but are still objective and care about the information they’re putting out.
