I hate writing negative reviews, so I’m still giving 4 stars because I think some people would really enjoy this story. And I liked the people being interviewed. Also I normally love everything on the binge, but unfortunately this particular season didn’t land for me. The story sounded like it would be right up my alley, but it sort of fell flat.
The whole season just bounced around, had a “throw spaghetti at the wall and see what sticks” vibe. I tried to suspend my disbelief, ignoring the implausibility of the series of events described by those interviewed, but it reached a point where I started feeling slightly annoyed lol
While I normally appreciate multiple perspectives, it felt like it was full of extraneous information. So many of the people interviewed spoke with such conviction about what they believe happened, but I felt like I was missing some context or something because it was hard to understand how they came to those conclusions.
Then at the very end they reveal a perfectly reasonable explanation for everything. It kind of took away the credibility of the other theories.

I can’t believe I listened to this entire podcast. It's beautifully produced, worthless, conspiracy-riddled drivel. They took a case of a missing Hollywood screenwriter who was then found (but wait, was it really him!?) and spend about eight hours going down mostly pointless rabbit holes. The overarching theory that “the CIA’s evil hands are behind this," didn't help. Don’t waste your time.
